Abstract. The paper proposes an approach to the diagnosis of an asynchronous electric motor based on the application of artificial neural networks to the analysis of time signals characterizing its operation. The characteristic types of damage to asynchronous machines and the main methods of their detection are briefly considered. Two common defects are modeled as examples: an inter-turn short circuit in the stator winding and a violation of the integrity of the squirrel cage of the rotor. To reproduce emergency modes, an engine simulation model is used in the Simulink environment, based on the results of which a data set is generated for training and testing a neural network algorithm. A recurrent neural network with an LSTM layer is chosen as the architecture, which allows taking into account extended time dependencies in signals. According to the simulation data, the accuracy of the classification of states is about 94 %. The integration of the diagnostic algorithm with a real electric drive is described separately: data is transmitted via a frequency converter and a programmable logic controller using the CANopen protocol and an OPC server, and processing is carried out in a Python application. Tests on an engine running in idle mode showed stable operation of the neural network at medium and high rotational speeds, which confirms the correctness of the developed algorithm.
Keywords: Asynchronous electric motor; Fault diagnostics; Inter-turn short circuit; Squirrel cage damage; Simulink model; LSTM neural network; Python application.
